LearnJoin Child Safety Policy

How LearnJoin protects children, supports families, and responds to safety concerns in online learning.

Last Updated: July 8, 2026

Overview

LearnJoin is committed to the safety and protection of children who use our platform. We design our platform, policies, and family tools to reduce risk, support oversight, and help create a protected online learning environment.

Contents

1. Family Accounts and Parent Controls

  • Children must use LearnJoin with parent or guardian involvement where required by law or LearnJoin onboarding rules.
  • Parents and guardians can review bookings, lesson history, and child account details through family tools where available.
  • Guardians approve child bookings and key actions through the family approval system, and can set per-child permission controls (messaging, booking, and feature access).
  • Child accounts cannot make payments directly — all purchases, plans, and installment requests route to the guardian's family account for approval and payment.
  • Guardians may observe a child's live lessons through the family dashboard's live-class view.
  • For students under 12, LearnJoin requires signed parent or guardian consent before participation.

2. Teacher Review and Platform Safeguards

  • LearnJoin reviews teacher profiles before they are shown publicly on the platform.
  • LearnJoin may use profile verification, policy review, training expectations, and ongoing quality checks as part of its child-safety approach.
  • In-platform messaging, booking records, lesson logs, and other safety tools may be used to investigate concerns.
  • Where enabled by LearnJoin, lesson environments may also use recording-enabled workflows and automated concern signals to help identify, assess, and escalate potential safeguarding issues.
  • Where required by law or platform design, LearnJoin may provide session notice, acknowledgment prompts, or consent-based controls before certain recording-enabled workflows begin.

3. Zero-Tolerance Safety Rules

LearnJoin has zero tolerance for grooming, sexual content involving minors, harassment, exploitation, threats, coercion, or inappropriate communication involving children.

Attempts to move child users to off-platform channels in ways that bypass parent oversight or platform safety controls are prohibited.

Lesson recordings, images, transcripts, or child-related personal information must not be shared on public platforms or through unapproved channels without explicit authorization and an appropriate legal basis.

4. Children's Privacy (COPPA)

LearnJoin complies with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent where required.

Parents and guardians may request access to, correction of, or deletion of their child's personal information by contacting LearnJoin.

5. Reporting Concerns

If you believe a child is at risk or that a lesson or conversation was inappropriate, report it immediately through Help & Safety in the app or by contacting LearnJoin directly.

If a child is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services or law enforcement right away.

6. What Happens After a Report

LearnJoin may review lesson data, messages, bookings, safety logs, account history, and, where available, relevant lesson-session materials when investigating a child safety concern. We may suspend accounts, restrict access, preserve evidence, and cooperate with lawful requests from authorities where required.

Where no report, concern flag, legal hold, or comparable safeguarding trigger applies, recording-based session materials may be deleted on a routine rolling basis, including within approximately 7 days. Where a safeguarding concern is raised, LearnJoin may preserve relevant session materials for longer as reasonably necessary for review, enforcement, or legal compliance.
